Sunday Along the Seine
What would you like to do?
Book stalls, bridges and a picnic that grows from four people to fourteen.
Morning — the bouquinistes
The green boxes open one by one. A reading circle meets by the Pont des Arts to swap one book each.
Noon — the picnic
Four people with a blanket become fourteen. Nobody planned it; everybody brought bread.
Afternoon — the island
A slow walk around the Île de la Cité, sketchbooks out, then an evening bal on the quays in summer.
